Composing
First, the piece is conceived and composed using many different shapes, textures, sizes and colors of compatable glass. Compatable glass, simply, is glass that has been tested to melt (expand and contract) at the same rate while changing temperature.
Kiln Firing
Second, the composed piece is put into a kiln and heated to a melting temperature. Afterwhich, the kiln is allowed to cool to room temperature.
Next, the piece may be cold worked, then placed back into the kiln and formed using various mold shapes and tecniques, again heating the kiln to a pre-determined temperature.
